Ok yes, it is 2024 but fountain pens are still here and gaining in popularity and prevalence - so where to start?? We got you babe. In this 90 minute event, you’ll unlock the mysteries of these classic writing instruments with helpful guidance. Led by our resident fountain pen aficionado, Emily, you’ll have fun while learning a little about the history and overview of fountain pens, how to write with them, how to take care of them, and more! There are two options to choose from:

Option 1: Join with Your Own Pen
Already own a fountain pen? Bring it along and delve into its anatomy, functionality, and maintenance. Learn the intricate parts of a fountain pen, from the nib to the barrel, and discover the fascinating mechanisms that make these pens a joy to write with.

Option 2: Include a Pen in the Price
New to the world of fountain pens? No problem! Enroll in our class and receive a Kaweco Sport fountain pen included in the price. You can choose from three colors and four nib sizes (from thinnest line to thickest): Extra Fine (EF), Fine (F), Medium (M), or Bold (B).

Explore the different parts of your new writing companion and gain hands-on experience. Be sure to wear something you won’t regret getting a stain on, just in case! 

In Fountain Pen 101, you'll master essential skills such as:

• Identifying the parts of a fountain pen and understanding their roles.
• Learning how to properly fill and empty a fountain pen, whether using cartridges or converters.
• Cleaning and flushing your fountain pen.
• What inks are and aren’t safe for fountain pens.
• Also! You’ll have a chance to test out some unusual/fun nibs O_O
